√6x-8=x
How would you solve this? I don't understand how since there are two x's on both sides.
Square both the sides: 6x-8=x^2
Now, Bring the whole expression to L.H.S: x^2-6x+8=0
Now, The expression is a quadratic expression, all you need is to factorize it: so,
x^2-4x-2x+8=0
x(x-4)-2(x-4)=0
(x-4)(x-2)=0
Either x-4=0 ,or, x-2=0.
so, x=4 or x=2
ANSWER: x=4,2
i hope this helps :)
