People usually get it from another person or maybe an animal. It isn't genetic, but being predisposed to it might be genetic. Also, getting it is easier if you smoke, have a weakened immune system, have asthma or a breathing problem, etc. Repeated bouts of it are a common cause of death in the very old. I'd go see a doctor about this repetition of the disease. Six times is a lot. I've had it only once and I'm old and have asthma.
