So are you saying the Ten Commandments are the only part of the bible that are important and we should ignore the rest?
Because God makes a point of telling us about the sin of homosexuality, or the consequences related to it, at least six times in the New Testament alone. (Jesus even points out the punishment Sodom & Gomorrah received due to homosexuality in the Luke scripture.) Looks like He's really trying to get the message across.
Luke 17:29
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Romans 1:24-27
1 Timothy 1:8-10
2 Peter 2:4-8
Jude 1:7
Does that trump the Commandments? No, everything in the Bible is God's word, and it is all equally important.
I think you are confusing the 7 Deadly Sins with the Commandments. We are not commanded to marry but we are warned against lust. Being gay has no positive moral component to appear in the Commandments but it does have a quality that brings it immediately into the 7 Deadly Sins.
I really don't want to argue the gay thing. I am not like that. But what you say is based on a rather silly confusion. Peace.
Well, there are lots of things that didn't appear in the Ten Commandments that some religious people believe important.
And given how one of the commandments is "Thou Shalt not Kill" (or Murder; translations vary) on the one hand, and the god of the bible has condoned or commanded mass genocides on the other, you will see that most religion is full of contradictions.
This is a logical fallacy called argument from ignorance.
That God did not make a commandment condemning homosexuality logically means he did not make a commandment condeming homosexuality. For you to conclude it wasnt important is simply illogical.

Christians are not a legal party to the old covenant ten commandments.
The ten commandments were a short list of the rights of God and fellow man. Homosexuality does not fit this venue.

Homosexuality didn't exist the same way you think of it today.
If you were gay or not, you got married and had kids; it was your duty to do so.
Adultery, is still adultery, whether it is between two people of the same gender or not and whether it involves people who are married or not.
And it couldn't be that important if Jesus never mentioned it. Not even once.
You know if your wrong you loose.
