I'm interested in being a volunteer, but I'm having my doubts . I really want to be a volunteer, but I need a little extra push . My goal is to put other people and their needs first . Do you believe it’s important to be a volunteer ? Why is it important to be a volunteer ? What rewards do you get from volunteering that you didn’t expect ? What can you tell me to inspire me to become a volunteer ?

Yes. Becoming a volunteer makes you a well-rounded person.
I was nineteen when I became a volunteer in BioLife (a plasma blood bank) and I could say it was not easy at all. I did not know what to do and I was asking myself why I was here. However, once I got to familiarize its system and I started to socialize with the permanent staffs around, I realized something valuable. I realized how important blood donation is, how a pint of blood can save three lives and how these plasma industries became a multi-dollar business in the world.
Becoming a volunteer is one of the things to make a difference. In fact, many blood banks look for responsible volunteers like you. They are looking for those persons who volunteer not only because it is a mandatory requirement in school but because it's what they want and they want to help charity events or institutions even without a pay.
In case you are curious how it feels like to become a volunteer in a blood bank, I'll encourage you to call each one of them. Convince them why they need you and what you can do for them. Apart from organizing a blood drive, there are other things to work on inside a blood bank. You can do paperworks, file data, mail letters, encode important data, managing their canteen, entertaining people in the waiting area or answering phone calls. You can even educate people about blood or plasma donation.
A BloodBanker directory is provided below and hopefully, you'll find this very useful. Good luck!
I believe volunteering and Eco-tourism is fundamental to preserve wildlife, indigenous communities and the environment. If it wasn't for Eco-tourism there would probably be no national parks like the Serengeti, lions and elephants would be critically endangered if not extinct and tribes as the Masai probably would not be tolerated so much.
The important thing is to ask yourself is why do you want to volunteer? Sometimes people chose the wrong volunteer experience as they did not ask themselves this question. Also it is important to keep in mind that if you volunteer do not expect to change the world or to see an improvement right away. Most efforts to make a difference depend on long-term sustainability and the positive results might not be seen by you if you only volunteer for a short duration.
My tip is volunteer to learn from the experience and hopefully the people will also learn something from you. Trust me going abroad and gaining experience like this will be a big benefit to all your future plans.

No its not important to be a volunteer that is unless it is important to yourself. It is only the cause that is really important. If you can be paid to do important work or any work you are happy with then that is fine. You can volunteer to kill someone... I rest my case
its a waste of time, you get job experience but i feel like ive been used, ive done it before but the lady didnt even give me a good recommendation letter and ui did all her paper work
