Can I name you?
Explanation:
England = England (Angleterre)
Great Britain = England + Scotland + Welsh (Grande Bretagne)
UK = England + Scotland + Welsh + Northern Ireland (Royaume-Uni)
Are these correct?
So how named the inhabitants?
England = British or English?
Great Britain = ?
UK = ?
I just don’t want to make any mistake.
In France we’re only French ;))

The inhabitants are known as British, except where they want to be specifically referred to as English, Welsh, Scottish or Irish. You are always safe calling us British unless told to do otherwise. It is highly inflammatory to call people English unless they are, in fact, English.
Formally we are UK citizens -- that is what is marked on our passports.
England = English
Scotland = Scottish
Wales = Welsh
Great Britain = British
UK = British
Northern Ireland is more complicated because of its long conflict. Some like to be called British, some do not.
The biggest mistake foreigners always make, and which is very offensive, is to call Scottish, Welsh and Irish people "English". They are not.
In England, we are English.
In Scotland, they are Scottish
In Wales, they are Welsh.
In Ulster, (Northern Ireland) they are Irish, Northern Irish or Ulsterman (depending on their political preferences)
We are all British.
In England, Scotland and Wales we are also United Kingdom Citizens, but those from Northern Ireland are not. Confused? So are most British people!
The inhabitants of the united kingdom of great britain and northern ireland are British. However in most other european countries, no matter where you come from in the uk you are known as English
British or Britain is correct for all.
Don't call it England if you mean Britain, it annoys the Welsh Irish and Scots
