I am more curious about the process – not in the particular process for any one state.
But let’s say you move from TX to CA. You go to the CA DMV, surrender your TX driver’s license to get your new CA driver’s license. What does the CA DMV do with the TX driver’s license you surrendered and the information you provided on the CA DMV application?
Just curious about what is going on in the background.

Your old license is destroyed (usually shredded) and the information sent back to the state where it was issued.
if you go to tx or ca, they sell your info to the illegal's that come across the border.
