I'm not sure how to do equations like this...
x+x/3+x/4 = 2 How do I isolate X?
I made this question before, but instead of =4 it is =2.. my fault!
x + x/3 + x/4 = 2
12(x + x/3 + x/4) = 12(2)
12x + 4x + 3x = 24
19x = 24
x = 24/19
x is a common factor at the left hand side, so take it out, x( 1+1/3+1/4)=4
The numbers inside the brackets are the numbers that can get you back to the original equation when you multiply them by x ( common factor)
You have x(19/12)=4..........19/12 comes from adding numbers in brackets.
Divide both sides by 19/12 to isolate x
X=48/19
Clear!!
x = 24/19 = 1.263
x= 1.263
