Obviously they don't care, why would they? You're the one with a customer who is complaining. You're the one who has to prove in court that the product is of "poor quality."
They aren't worried they'll lose your business. Why would they be, your niche is finding someone willing to pay more for their product than they sell it for.

Refund the customer yourself. This is the problem with drop shipping.
