The guy who said that we have £trillions in tax because of her...you're mistaken. The whole point of Thatcherism and her monetarist policy's was to ensure the rich paid less tax so that the working class pick up their tab. She sold off our council houses to pay for tax cuts for her rich free-loading mates.

The 'New Realism' that permeated throughout the 1980's, and then into Blair's period of power has resulted into Britain becoming a nation without skilled workers. All power was thrown into the hands of a few rich elites. Not exactly a democratic move.

It should also be remembered that she supported Apartheid in South Africa, General Pinochet, who led a coup against the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende in Chile, destroyed Britain's manufacturing base, attempted to destroy all independent working class organisations that fought for social justice. She conspired with the heads of the police and the Tory press in order to demonise the people of Liverpool over the Hillsborough disaster. The further North you go the more devastation you can witness as a result of her hatred of the working class.

Many right wingers complain about the state of the UK right now. Of course, they blame everyone and everything for the problems we face...except for the real cause of it all...Thatcherism! I'm proud to say that I was part of the anti Poll Tax movement that eventually brought her down!

I'm inclined to agree with the view that privatising Thatcher's funeral would be a totally appropriate solution. If one or some of her oligarch friends want to pay for a vulgar, tasteless send-off, so much the better; but absolutely nothing should have to come from any of the millions of decent ordinary people whose livelihood and communities she devastated or whose civil rights she and her vile successors, including her Newscorp Labor Tory successors, trampled on.

Have no fear, the tax payer will pick up the WHOLE tab for this charade. It's ironic that the woman who wanted the people to pay for themselves and the government paying for nothing gets this on the house. According to her own politics it should have gone out to tender with the lowest quote getting the job. That's what she did with Water, Gas, Electricity etc.

It has been said that while she was in power her tough negotiations with the EU saved the UK taxpayer over £700 billion so I guess thats why...BTW the taxpayer is paying 50% of the costs of the funeral . but the full cost of any damaged caused by rioting...

Thats about the same amount as some bankers bonus. I think the banking guy who just gave up his knighthood and bonus should pay the whole thing, after all, it would be a REAL gesture of goodwill, instead of just skimming the surface.
