i want to say: some of the suspects were mei, fernando, and reginald.
Can you also please tell me the correct sentence if its wrong?
Quelques des suspectes étaient mei, fernando, et reginald.
If you're talking about a story though, or they are still currently suspects in some way
Quelques des suspectes sont mei, fernando, et reginald.
Parmi les suspects il y avait: Mei, Fernando et Reginald. (you need "imparfait")
Not quite.
It was close but it meant "Some suspects were mei, fernando, and Reginald." The real french sentence was "certains des suspects ont été mei, Fernando, et Reginald"
No
Hope it's not too "over-transtaled" : Parmi les suspects, il y avait Mei, Rernando, et Reginald. I don't see lots of other ways to say it :)
No, but almost: it would be "quelqueS" and "SONT", not "ont", and Capitalize the names, because at first, I had NO idea what you meant by "mei".
