I’m originally from India and live in the USA, me and my husband ( from India too) were in business meeting with an agent who was nice but commented two times and said to my husband “it is time to upgrade, time for a new wife” then she was laughing as if it is funny.. do you consider that appropriate? It was my first time meeting her.

I consider it incredibly rude with no excuse for it. Don't do business with that woman.
No it's not.
No, it was extremely inappropriate, and your husband should have told her so immediately. Shame on him if he didn't. If you can switch business agents, you should. If you can't, then the next time you have a business meeting with this person, you and your husband better be on your guard and have a snappy response to put her in her place.
Highly inappropriate, not to mention insulting.
If this is a person you can avoid doing business with in the future, that's what I recommend.
If you must meet with her again, and if she repeats the same remark, you should turn to your husband and announce, "Time to upgrade to a new agent."
Who ever this "agent " is should be off your list of business people.
Totally unacceptable comment.
My best advice to you is tell husband to get away from her and stay away from her.
Seems a bit peculiar, but it was probably nothing more than a rather silly joke. Dr. Seuss once said, "Those who matter don’t mind, and those who do mind don’t matter." Let it go!
No, that's not appropriate for a business meeting and especially someone you've just met (who doesn't know you or your sense of humor). Not professional of her AT ALL. Hopefully your husband didn't take her seriously.
