Is there another name than ‘tortilla’ for the Mexican flatbread?
I’m wondering if a proper alternative word exists because it gets so confusing, since ‘tortilla’ also means ‘potato-based omelette’, especially in Spain and most Spanish-speaking countries.
Don't know of another word. But if you're using the word in the U.S., almost no one would think of the egg-type-tortilla. And I'd bet that outside of Spain and perhaps surrounding countries, the first assumption would be corn (or wheat) flatbread too.

Nope. Tortilla is tortilla. Corn or flour, it's tortilla.
