Go on a different browser. This may be different for everybody, but I'm not sure.

Currently for me, they only show up on Internet Explorer and Firefox. On Chrome, I don't even have a recommended questions tab.

On the questions list to the left of recommended is open questions, you can sort by newest, fewest answers etc...
