No. It's something that is cited but there are other issues which prevent peace from becoming a reality.
I've heard reports that Israel would be willing to take in some amount of Palestinians if a peace deal is reached, though; however, it's not as many as the Palestinian leadership requests. I'm not sure what they expect, since Israel is VERY cognizant of what is taught about them in refugee camps and no one should expect people holding certain hostile beliefs to be simply allowed in. Though, it's not like this is the biggest block in a peace deal, but it's something that is said to still stall it. Even if the Palestinians give up their claimed "right of return", there are still issues such as border disputes, security issues, demands of compensation, and a slew of other things that prevent Israel and the Palestinian leaders from agreeing on things.
If they want Palestine to be their country ,Palestine should accept Palestinian refugees. Israel has accepted the return of some Palestinian refugees in the past for family reunification and other reasons.Israel has a right as a sovereign nation not to accept Palestinian refugees en masse. Most Arab Palestinians left Israel of their own accord told to leave by Arab governments that wanted to destroy Israel in war
They also must accept that they cannot own Jerusalem or a single inch of Israel's land. They need to accept that 3 religions can share the land and that Islam is no more special or deserving than the others.
WELL, Arabs who didn't run away are citizens of Israel, the ones who ran away were mostly newcomers to Israel, Arabs who came to Israel to work in the fields to dry the swamps and to build the new Israeli homes and towns.
These people ran away because they were told to leave by their own, they expected an Arab military victory. They thought they could leave temporarily and return at their leisure. They didn't go back to their origin countries, rather they ran as far as they did and there stayed camped and waited, well their brethren lost and to their hosting county wanted them out.. but they refused to leave.
So there is no right of return to Israel, they should try and claim what they left behind in their countries of origin.
Peace will never be a reality simply because it is not on Israel's agenda. Israel wants the land at any cost and will continue to kill or displace Palestinians until Israel has all it wants.

It's only part of it. What Palestinians really need to understand is that 'peace' does not mean 'Muslim Arabs killing and subjugating everybody else'.

If Palestinians want to have an independent country -- how do they want a "right of return" to a different country??
That makes no sense at all.
The offer from Egypt that Mahmoud Abbas said he rejected on September 8 included full right of return for all Palestinian refugees into Palestine,
and to the degree that details were known about it was acceptable to the Israelis.

It's just another weapon to be used against Israel as political warfare. Same goes with the "refugees"
Nope, not true. There can be no peace with Jews
and Arabs living with or alongside each other.
