I’m wondering about methods such as the work of byron katie, that suggests that instead of changing external reality to fit your desires, change/diminish your desires.
So i’m wondering if the result is truly the same?
Can one gain true happiness by changing his internal system to match reality?
Is this a good method for solving problems? instead of fix it.. accept it?

Too vague, you can cheat all day with terminology like that, the key to happiness, is practicality, it's not about desires, and wants, it's about dreaming of what SHOULD BE, or dealing with what IS.
And yes, you are happier when you get practical, and you are fixing them by getting practical, fairy-tales aren't constructive, because they're not practical, they're not real.
