Its hard to answer that. Some americans love soccer. personally i am not a big fan of it myself. let me tell you the reason i don;t like it. Now first i would like to saw i am not meaning to make anyone feel bad, this is just what i think.
1. most games are boring it goes back and forth back and forth.
2. Its long
3. You can't even use your hands.
4. You do the same thing
These are just a couple of reasons. for number 1. what i mean by that is unlike in football or baseball you score a lot and get a lot of good plays in. No don't get me wrong when someone does score a goal in soccer it is cool, but the games usually end 1-0 2-1 or something like that. Baseball games end 5-6 or something like that.
For number 2 i mean its just much longer then other sports.
for number 3 i mean well what it says, you don't use your hands you just kick stuff not catching or anything (except the goaly)
For number 4 i mean, it does the same thing, in football you will amazing touchdowns amazing catches, same thing with baseball.
CVE45 is the typical American, they just don't understand the beauty of the game. He says that it's boring because it goes back and forth, yet American gridiron football stops every 10 seconds, now that's boring. He says that it's too long. It's a 90 minute game played in 2 hours. American gridiron football is a 60 minute game that takes 3 or 4 hours to play. You can't use your hands because it takes more skill to use your feet. Then he says "you do the same thing". Have you ever watched a basketball game? All they do is run down the court and score then run back up the court and score then run back down the court and score then, well you get the idea.
Most Americans just haven't got a clue about real football.
it actually is, but its not a big part of the economy here and is not spent much on advertising and merchandise unlike the nfl and the nba. but the us is starting to take notice in the world cup after winning against spain and almost beating brazil. also people dont like it because its slow. the nfl is loved so much because its short and unlike soccer, one play, even if it doesnt score you points can pretty much decide the game and it for the most part doesnt end in a tie so there arent much problems as to who advances in the playoffs. for example the man u game where they davances even though they had the same record as the other team and tied the game.
Ohh Freaken wow. CVE45. are you kidddin me. its not boring. when you actually understand soccer and the different stlyes of play its actually fun. they do have good plays like passing or finnese. and i like baseball too but it is way more back and forth then soccer.
#2 whatever i guess.
#3 thats the dumbest reason i have ever heard. thats like if i said that baseball is borin because you dont use your feet. or basketball because u dont use your feet.
#4 In soccer you see some amazing reflex saves or almost impossible goals. {bycicle kicks. half field shots}
and i hope you read this and have something to say back. i know you wearnt trying to offend anyone tho
I like to think they just have a sort of bad opinion of it. Even though most have never really watched a game. Cant really blame them though, the best they have is MLS and it sucks. I personally have no idea how some people can say its boring and and be able to watch baseball for however long it takes. Mostly though i think its an "If were not good at it, its not worth it" sort of alititude.
