Is かもしれない ever shortened to かも in conversational Japanese?
I remember hearing my teachers say it at the end of sentences; vaguely. I always assumed that that was what かも meant as a sentence ending. Was I right?

"かも" is a shortened version of the phrase "かも知れない".
"そうかも知れない" and "そうかも" have exactly the same meaning, but the latter sounds a lot more casual.
