I recently bought a home gym after doing the research. In the end I bought one with weights because I learned that you want a well built product but 50 pounds of resistance is 50 pounds of resistance whether its from free weights, flexible bars or picking up my grandkid. It doesn't matter where you get the resistance just that you do the work. Since the Bowflex machines are very expensive next to their competitors and I get nothing for the extra money I went with the more cost effective product.
