I got offered a job with a big healthcare organization. The salary comes with good benefits and bonus structure and growth opportunities. What are your thoughts? I live with my parents and I live in Albuquerque, NM which is not expensive to live in.

Yes very good. My first job in 2010 was a contract job $12 an hour. I’m 32 now and the most I’ve ever made is $40000 working in financial services and most employers think I’m crazy/asking for too much when I ask for $40K.
But it does depend on what you’re going to be doing. Obviously for a doctor that would be low.
Yes. Your total compensation package is more like $50K a year. Given the cost of living in Albuquerque, you should do nicely on the salary.
Any work is better than no work. $40k is low to begin with, but I have taken pay cuts several times in my life to get established again. If you are a superior employee they will eventually give you raises so that you don't go somewhere else. There are plenty of employees in the world but there are not very many good employees.Albuquerque is a lot cheaper to live in than major cities. so go for it.
Off in the Boonies like you are, that sounds pretty good to me.
depends on the kind of job. If it's an engineering job, no. If a business job, yes especially if you've been looking for a year. The benefits, bonus and grown are real positives, and health care is a good field to get into.
A novice aviation mechanic straight out of trade school can earn $76,000 per annum in Oakland CA. And rookie policemen are hired at over $80K.
Frankly, for a college grad $40K sounds paltry even for New Mexico.
with your situation, it'll be a comfortable salary. while still living with your parents, do some research on apartments, condos, or even homes on what you can afford, property taxes, renters or home owners insurance, or other costs.
in general, i would say 40,000 is a very competitive salary for entry level employees. if its something you're interested in doing, and like you said they have advancement opportunities available within your field, go for it. sometimes you have to start at the bottom to work your way up, even with a college degree.
keep in mind of taxes where you live too. that salary is what you'll make before taxes. and there are sites that can help calculate each year what you'll actually be taking home. and your insurance and benefits will also be taken out of your pay check most likely if you choose to use what they offer. you could talk with HR or benefits personnel to see what they offer, and maybe look for your self and see if you can get something cheaper to save money.
Maybe if you get a REAL job, you can move your lazy, worthless butt out of your Mommy's basement and actually start living like an ADULT!
Why, have you got a better offer? Good or bad take it, it's easier to get a job if you've got a job.
Depends on the job.
