... humans survive and keep on evolving and advancing, what will humans be like in:
1. 1000 years?
2. 10,000 years?
3. 1,000,000 years?
4. 1,000,000,000 years?
-----------------------------------
At the rate our technology is advancing, I personally believe that if we humans can survive for another million years, we will have found a way to somehow transform ourselves into some kind of pure energy, like the energy that existed in the big bang.
WAIT a minute! We evolved from the big bang!....
THINK!!

This is exactly what Buddhism seeks to achieve.
The highest achievement of nirvana is basically the same thing -
returning back to the same energy we came from .
Pure energy isnt what you think it is. Energy takes the form of heat or electricity. It is not something that can be just taken and balled up and materialized.
Humans and earth have two paths ahead of it:
1. Humans ruin earth and it's ability to sustain humans/life
2. Humans wage nuclear war on eachother
3. Humans die of hunger/disease/war as foretold. It is the only way to kill us
OR
1. We choose a scientific path
2. We become peaceful
3. We become interstellar people ( and eventually intergalactic)
4. We travel to a new home similar to earth that is roughly 6 light years away
It would be miraculous to survive another 1000 years. 10,000? We would have left earth by then.
To survive another million years as advanced as we are would create an peace among our people like no other, and all production at this point could only be positive.
in one billion years, the human race no matter what will be removed from earth. Life has only been on this planet since the permian age, roughly 960 million years ago. We are in the cenozoic era, and we will eventually be wiped out by natural disaster's/apocalyptic events.
Feel enlightened? Lookup bigthink on youtube. lots of great videos by Micho Kaku, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye.
The sun can last for a long time but not forever, We don't even have the natural resources. Our technology will continue to advance. There was these two scientists that ACTUALLY proved god didn't create the world about the 'Big Bang'
You may be right ... I worry we will degrade the environment so much over the next couple of hundred years that it will be soyent green* all round for dinner ... but on the bright side it will make interesting conversation at the table ... "Guess who's coming as dinner ?"
*Taken from a 70's film. Soylent Green is a supposedly soy and lentil based nutrition source which later turns out to be made out of harvested humans hence the quote "Soylent green is people".

Transferrence of consciousness is not a new concept.
Eventually technology will become so advanced that we won't need any more advancements and will stop.
If we survive for a million years we definitely will be an interstellar (maybe intergalactic) species, if for no other reason than we f*cked up our old planet(s).
To be honest with you, I don't think the human race is going to last very long. By 2050 the earth is supposed to run out of it's natural resources.
Lets also not forget we have 7.1 billion people on the planet which continues to grow rapidly. With all of the nuclear weapons, WW3 is going to be a extermination if it ever takes place.
Joe,
Get a grip...
and yes,...I do think.
The solution for surviving the next 200 years is the same solution for surviving 1,000,000,000,000 years...
it is called ecological/societal sustainability.
Note Sandy's answer...
THINK!!

Doesn't really stretch my imagination. In one million years we will have solar powered cars, every single thing on the planet being automated and self-refilling water bottles... paradise.
"★INCREDIBLE QUESTION★ for Atheists, Theists, Agnostics, that will stretch your imagination to the limit!"
How will you express yourself when you come up against something really incredible?
Your head will assplode
"what will humans be like..."
Oh, I get it - you want us to speculate.
Obviously we'll all have wings and we'll all have Superman suits...
Even the girls ;)

it is most likely we will destroy our species and probably many much other species as our technology improved...
if you look at the most powerful driving force of human motivation... it is greed...
i think we are made of pure energy, condensed energy or something
