You have maybe been spending your time in London. Which is kind of a different country. Current UK unemployment allowance for those under 25 is £57.90 per week, which when you take out heating and fuel, etc. doesn't leave a lot . In fact, basic foods are pretty cheap in supermarkets, and there are a lot of charity shops around. But London is different.
Don't worry, Eric. Next time you are here, I'll get you tea and a whole packet of biscuits and only charge you £800.
