As imperfect humans we tend to hold grudges and have higher expectations of others. By reminding myself of all the things I have done wrong in my life and the fact that our heavenly father completely wipes the slate clean, never to be remembered again helps me to view people realistically and show forgiveness. Sometimes this can be really difficult if someone has done something really bad to you. This happened to me one time and without going into it, my close friend did something to me that to anyone else would be completely unforgivable. Admittedly it took me a long time but eventually I could forgive her and even pray for her.
Forgiving others for personal offenses does not mean that we are condoning or minimizing what they have done; neither does it mean letting others take unfair advantage of us. After all, when Jehovah forgives us, he is certainly not trivializing our sins, and he will never allow sinful humans to trample upon his mercy. (Hebrews 10:29) According to Insight on the Scriptures, forgiveness is defined as “the act of pardoning an offender; ceasing to feel resentment toward him because of his offense and giving up all claim to recompense.” (Volume 1, page 861) The Bible provides us with sound reasons for forgiving others.
i don't comprehend - forgiveness implies some previous trespass, and that i do no longer think of it quite is mandatory first with the intention to have empathy, compassion, or kindness. in fact, i think of many trespasses abort the possibility of those issues as quickly as committed. i do no longer rather comprehend forgiveness o.k. - we gained't undo what somebody else has performed, nor erase the outcomes - what does it rather advise to forgive? To comply with proceed to love them? perhaps we are able to try this a pair of times, yet - trespasses against love take their toll, no rely if we want them to or no longer. we are able to forgive somebody for failing to water a plant too, yet - if it is going on too long the plant dies besides. i think of empathy, compassion, and kindness are self sufficient of forgiveness and can exist by myself, without forgiveness.
Just follow the instructions of God as they are written and maintain my salvation. Doing that means that I am mindful of the sufferings and needs of my fellow man be they believers or not, and I do what I can with a charitable spirit to be a help or comfort where needed.
"THE BEATTITUDES." Keep them in mind and let your light so shine before men so that they will see your good works and Glorify your Father who is in Heaven.
Simple and Easy.
PS: We don't owe debts as christians, Christ payed it all on the Cross.
Regardless of Jesus' forgiveness of my debt of sin (which is awesome), I'm compassionate and forgiving anyway. It's a personality trait that I'm actually kind of proud of.
Prayer, OVER AND OVER AND OVER,TO FORGIVE, to be able to do this that is pleasing to God and show this person 1 Corinthians 13:4 continuously. Love is Patient Love is Kind and keeps no record of wrongs...Read this passage and walk there of.

When faced with a thoroughly obnoxious individual (as they abound where I live) I will hold my judgement and learn to rest in peace... is that ok?
It's divine to not expect anything back or to be justified in your belief that you were wronged... truth is, we have all wronged God, haven't we?!?
Nice question... ;0))
good question, now I will have to remember to show kindness and forgiveness to everyone, especially to those who dont want it or deserve it.
Thanks
I don't need Jesus to show compassion and forgiveness to someone.
Do the Republican candidates for President know about this?
I simply try to be nice to everyone. It's that simple.
