And what they should do is each province puts out a song that reflects the culture, traditions, lifestyle, and listening audience of the province.
It should be a non-political event based on talent. Can use artists from Canadian voice or other selections but provinces run own festivals however they want to select their provincial artist
And then for the Canada finals, each province or territory resident can vote say their favourite 3 songs but can’t pick their own Province in their vote since every province would vote themselves otherwise
Then each province gets one scoring by the televotes in each Canadian province and a Jury also weighs in
The Canada song of the year can then participate in Eurovision Song Contest which Australia already participates in...its not just Europe in it ... and Canada could be in it as well

Because that sounds like a really dumb idea from the start, that's why.
I happen to be a Canadian, and I also happen to be a musician / vocalist / songwriter, and I still think it's a dumb idea.
What you're proposing is nothing more than a contest to see who can b*tch and whine the most, and there is no shortage of b*tching and whining in this country. That's pretty much our national pastime, in fact.
Because hockey is far more important to us and we're not idiot Americans, to waste so much time and effort on something so meaningless and trivial.
If you come up with a good idea, and a way to pay for it (i.e., make money from it), go for it. I am not sure there is a market for such a thing in Canada, but, if you think there is, just do it.
In Australia for some reason, Eurovision has a huge fanbase, that existed long before its participation. Only if Canada has the same, should it be allowed to participate.
