I’m reading the cases about dogs getting in trouble one reason or another, mostly biting someone.
If the authorities arrive at your door can they size your dog without a court order?
What happens if you refuse to give up the dog, or if you hide him?
Update:Thank you for your answers.
My dogs never bit a person, but one did bit another dog.
The owner of the other dog tried to get him deemed “a Dangerous Animal”
And have him seized, but my attorney said, “Only a court can deem an animal
Dangerous and he would have had to bite several people to get to that point”
I hear too many stories of people giving up their dogs after any altercation

Depends on the laws in your area, in my area, even though they were delivery people that disregarded the warnings and took it upon themselves to abuse my dogs and were bit. The only thing that happened was that they are quarantined (dogs) on the property for two weeks. They weren't going anywhere anyway.
If your dog bites anyone, you are legally responsible to pay all their medical bills and you are legally required to PROVE the dog had it's rabies vaccination. If your dog is accused of biting someone, it is probably legal for authorities to seize the dog without a court order, but you'd have to ask your vet or local animal control to be sure if I am accurate.
If they have a legal right to seize your dog and you refuse to give up the dog, you can be arrested. If you hide your dog after he's bitten someone to prevent him from being seized, you're just an IDIOT!
Once two of my dogs were fighting and I stupidly put my hand in the middle and one accidentally side-swiped my arm in trying to bite the other. I required 17 stitches. In my area, the Health Department is the one I had to deal with as the hospital reported my visit to the ER for a "dog bite". I had to do a LOT of fast and hard talking to explain that the dog was NOT trying to bite me, but I put my arm in the path his mouth was taking to bite the other dog. I did this stupid mistake in the pitch dark at 2am in my living room. They finally accepted the facts as indication that they didn't need to seize the dog. -!-
It depends on the circumstances why any Dog bites .Each case must be taken as an Individual case .yes some one can just seize your dog if you refuse to give the dog up you will end up getting arrested .
If you hide a dog that has bitten some one that would be plain stupid .
The simple answer is dont allow your dog to bite any one .
