I just looked at badoo.com It looks like it sucks, but it does have a thing where you can click on people near you and chat with people in your city and it does it at your age range, so you can just chat with people your age where you live.

You might make new friends that way.

also there is a thing called http://meetup.com/ where people get together live to do things like go hiking and stuff. It could be nifty, and if you go to a meeting there is already something to talk about.
