If they cannot get into Canada & could do it, are Australia or New Zealand solutions for hard pressed people living in California? ?
Say you are down on your luck, can’t get work or on an at will contract of employment in LA, San Francisco, San Diego, Bakersfield, Fresno or Sacramento and cannot get to Vancouver, is the other side of the Pacific then the answer and solution?
More specifically Auckland, Wellington, Sydney and Brisbane?
They also have the free healthcare and up to six weeks paid holiday from the jobs where people cannot just be let go.
Why are not more people trying to make the move, or then to places such as Hawaii, Guam or American Samoa?

Just like US persons from any other state, if they have the professional skills Australia and New Zealand need they can immigrate there. You don't have to extol the virtues of the Antipodes because the fact is that most Americans simply don't have the education to go to these places. Especially not most Californians as that state has the second worst public education in the country.
Australia and New Zealand do not want you either. solve own problems where you are.
US citizens are banned from travelling to Australia and a New Zealand currently.
