If r + s = x, and rs ≠ 0, what is the value of r + s / r? (All answers in terms of x)?

This is an SAT Math question basically. I was wondering how to solve it for future reference. Also, I could use help with those tricky operations that aren't ones with which one typically is familiar. Example: p ☐ m = p, and p △ m = m; which of the following values must be true? (Just give me any that would be true, and please explain. I really am trying to improve myself.)

Update:

A bit of a footnote, all the answers to the first problem included 1s--answers such as x+1/x-1 and x+1/x... this really threw me off.
