In February my wage is rising from apprentice wage to minimum wage, (around £6/hour) at 40 hours a week this works out at £11,900/year. How much of this will I be taxed on? £9,400 is tax free isn't it? So will I only be taxed on £2,500? How much will I roughly pay a month in tax? Thanks,

First there is a free official calculator on gov.UK which does tax and National Insurance Contributions.
You will not be earning more then £34000 over the allowance so all of your tax will be at basic rate from February.
Depending on how much you earn up to February you might have allowances unused April to January.
Code 944L = allowance of £9440. You need to work out your earnings at the lower rate April to January plus the earnings at the higher rate February to March. Get the total for the year then deduct the £9440 allowance.
