And then you would be able to finally appeal so many things to the US Supreme Court and get lightning fast same-day rulings

You seem to be forgetting Elena Kagan, but the point of SCOTUS isn't to greenlight some political agenda and once it starts doing that it'll lose the only power it has. The Supreme Court doesn't have an army. All it has is its reputation.
