You might have voted yes too, if like them, you had also been fooled by the lies coming out of the Bush administration on WMDs.  Almost all of Congress was taken in by those lies.  A lot in the media were too, including the NYT.

Any who weren't fooled and who voted no or otherwise opposed Bush's "splendid little war" were labelled as unpatriotic terrorist lovers.
