I think I am about to bite the bullet and go buy an Xbox 360 pro…?
Am I correct in my assumption that an (correct me if I am saying/writing this wrong) Xbox 360 pro will play all my old regular Xbox games?
Update:Or will an arcade version do the same?

It will play most of your original Xbox games.. See link below for the compatibility list..
For backwards compatibility you need a hard drive.. the Xbox 360 Arcade does not come with one (just a 256MB memory unit).. if you added a hard drive to the Xbox 360 Arcade it will be able to play original Xbox games the same as the Xbox 360 Premium..

Yes the Xbox 360 could play your old original games. But you have to buy the update disk. You could buy it on Xbox.com & it is free & only have to pay $2.00 for s/h.
I bought the update disk at ebay.
