(could somebody explain to me what the pokéwalker does? i here its like a pedometer which would be cool sense i jog and power walk alot)
It's only a $5 dollar difference so i guess i'm ok with buying new, but what are the other advantages of buying it new? i usually buy all my games used

Buy it new. It's better to buy games new than used, because used games might be damaged in some way. And if you brought it used, the previous owner might have cheated in the game, for DS games cheating with a cheat device can damage the game and mess the coding up, and may prevent you from saving properly as a punishment for cheating (yes, Nintendo and Gamefreak have programmed punishments for cheaters). And the Pokewalker is a pedometer, you can use the Wireless features to transfer a Pokemon inside the Pokewalker, the more steps you take, the more friendlier and the more EXP your Pokemon gains (yes, it can level up in the Pokewalker). And the more steps you take, the rarer Pokemon and items you can find in the Pokewalker and transfer them to the game.
Buy it new, but only if the pokewalker comes with it. If it doesn't have one buy it used.
Buying new 99% of the time guarantees it to be fully functional, while used may have issues.
