I have to write a poem about "Persistence Of Memory" by Salvidor Dalí?
I have to write a poem about this painting, i need suggestions for things to write, i'm really not sure how to write a poem especially about this painting. suggestions appreciated! Thank You!
The first would be a melting of time. Also a ;little known fact i that Dali would sit for hours in front of his blank canvas waiting for images to form, There is also a story that he would dribble milk on his bare chest for flies to come and then he could paint.
Having recently and more than once visited the Dali museum here, I'm always in awe of what I may have missed in a piece, yet in studying, find images within images, being his intent. HD is spot on as to what the piece (one of his most popular) is about. He managed to conceptualize at a higher level than many can, and his profundity may never be completely understood.

Tex-sis... I could not place the specific painting.
I agree 100% here with H.D...it is about the incovenient rigidities
and also the subjective/ emotional flexibilities of `time`
specifically in reference to fixing memory in one`s mind..
a purported by-road or Highway even, to immortal experience/ s..
The specific work, depicts time draped, supine upon a deadened-by-`time` (note the ` please)
tree-branch..the branch..remains though time itsel fhas...melted -
or more accurately, its` instruments (perceptions) have become useless / unnecessary
though the landscape...remains -surreally it seems, due also, to the features in the painting.
The sunshine (measure of time`s passages too) see ms to mock, imho.
I`m unsure how you might prefer to put this to apoem
as I do not know your preferred genre of written work.
But I hope this very crude and miniscule, one-dimensional analysis....pallid really, is of use to you.
