I weigh about 135 ponds and am 5’5. I used to be naturally skinny but recently I’ve been gaining weight. I know that I’m not obese or need to worry too much, but I am very self conscious and I also noticed I often binge and over eat. Some days I will even force myself to not eat, but again I binge and binge. I’m not diagnosed but I’m convinced I have a food addiction. I’ve already tried counting my calories with diet apps but doesn’t seem to work. Does anyone have any tips that might help? Thank you.

You can if you give yourself to God and admit to Him your total lack of ability. He is able to save to the uttermost those who come unto Him.
Eat protein rich foods that have some fat like Greek yogurt, cheese, meat, and peanut butter. They make you feel satiated. Don't eat foods like donuts, cookies, ice cream, and French fries. They are high calorie foods with much less nutritional value.
Eating is only a problem if you believe it is a problem for you. Sometimes I get bored, or lonely and I might eat a huge bowl of ice cream. But it might be several days or weeks before I finish the half gallon. It's only a problem if I feel I can't stop overeating. It might help to talk to a member of overeaters anonymous. They will be able to tell you the difference in occasional eating and overeating. But don't worry for now, you are older and your body may be changing some. Give yourself time before you determine anything specific. Your doctor might be the first place to start.
Probably not the best advice, but if you feel the urge to eat, try something with low or no calories. Gum or mints might help, but chewing ice cubes can damage teeth. Celery is actually a "negative" food; celery has virtually no calories and you will burn off those calories and then some just by chewing alone. Also, look into which food/drink (complex carbs most likely) you consume regularly that you can reduce or ultimately eliminate from your diet (for example, if you drink a glass of Coke every day). Seek advice from a medical professional. Best of luck to you.
