I’d like to invest in a relatively low cost financing franchise opportunity soon, but would like some guidance and mentoring from someone. I recently came across a businessman in my city with over six years of experience that I would like to contact. I found his phone number in an online phonebook, so I saved it to ask for his advice. He doesn’t know who I am or how I got his number, so I’m concerned I might creep him out. I plan on telling him about myself, including my current line of work and why I’d like to get into finance. Apart from that, I don’t know what else to say to make it not seem weird that I am calling him. How should I call this man?

"relatively low cost financing franchise"
At the end, you mention that you want to get into finance....is this some sort of financial franchise??? Please explain...I have an odd feeling you're about to get scammed.
Part of the services provided when you buy a franchise are training and mentoring.
Why would he want to mentor you? Not everyone enjoys mentoring.
Wait, don't franchises have to offer up names & numbers for that exact reason?
If he won't help you can try:
