Oddly here in Ireland, even though we're a bloody island!, fish is usually pretty expensive, especially fresh fish. Went to the local fishmongers today, never been before, and got a full fresh salmon (farmed not wild) for only €10, now I think that's a very good deal. It is isn't it? Thanks.

I'm on the Atlantic side of Florida, I buy fresh salmon at least once a week - usually pay about $9 per pound. It depends on the fish/shrimp etc what I pay versus other areas because for example, we have fresh shrimp directly from the boats here while Kansas USA doesn't, and they have to pay more and I get it fresh and cheap!
Wow! That's GREAT!! In (southwest) USA, we pay $12-$18 for one pound(=1/2 kg)! If it's wild Alaskan salmon, we've paid $18-$20+ for a pound!
Enjoy it! And might I recommend this recipe for the absolute tastiest, yet easiest, cooking of it?

Dear IRISH, I live in Chicago. Illinois USA in the Midwest near Lake Michigan and we still have to pay a high price for fish too. AS mentioned above it is still $5.00- 10.00 per pound or more which is probably close to the same price you pay..
