Hi all
I'm a British citizen looking to work in another EEA member state e.g. Ireland so that I can get an EEA family permit so me and my non–EEA partner/spouse may go to the UK with to hopefully get a residence stamp. I was told that my non–EEA partner would have to be in the EEA member state with me for the duration of 3 to 6 months so that we can apply for an EEA family permit, from what I understand my non–EEA partner doesn't require a visa due to my partners country of residence/passport but as a non–EEA partner/spouse on arrival in Ireland what would our next step be, will my partner be able to get an "stamp 4" since I'm a EU citizen so that my partner is able to stay with me so we can apply for an EEA family permit? Thanks.

If you are still in the UK I would advise calling the Irish Embassy or the Irish Immigration & Naturalisation Service (INIS) in the Republic of Ireland for advice, INIS is the official government department charge of these matters

Citizens Information also carries useful information about moving to Ireland

IIRC, approximately one hundred fifty,000 British human beings stay in eire and don't journey plenty issues. often, you are able to come and circulate to eire and stay/artwork right here as you please under distinctive bi-lateral agreements between eire and the united kingdom, besides as ecu Union policies. however, inspite of what a lot of human beings think of, that freedom of flow isn't computerized (neither is it computerized everywhere interior the ecu). government of somebody u . s . (which comprise eire) reserve (and could constantly reserve) the perfect to refuse get admission to to all and sundry their have faith could be a threat to public risk-free practices and/or the risk-free practices of the State. however, for the reason that, probably, you're no longer a homicidal maniac or a terrorist (!), this would possibly not persist with to you. in case you do circulate right here, you will locate human beings relatively friendly in all respects. besides the fact that the probability of experiencing discrimination purely for being British is extremely low, you nonetheless shouldn't boost the situation of Northern eire with human beings you do no longer understand. you haven't any longer any way of understanding how this is going to be gained.
