How do I deal with my most problematic archetype – the saboteur?
My friend recently helped me understand why I have been having all these problems. It looks like my most active archetype is my saboteur. She swings into action and says the most inappropriate things, does things that just make me look bad. This is not multiple personality. I am just puzzled by this phenomenon when I just seem to do the most bizarre things at the most bizarre times. My friend said I should negotiate with my saboteur. Tell her she will get rewarded for good behaviour and things like that. Any other ideas?

It's a disturbed sense of control, that's causing you to do that, basically by wreaking havoc when things start going over your head, you feel you're taking back control.
Personally I'm not a big fan of these archetypes, because it splits up, and pigeon-holes something that's very fluid, and that is always 'in relation to' the rest of your personality. So it might help a little, but it can also leave you with a completely warped idea of who you are.
I'd say take charge more, figure out exactly why you say the inappropriate things, why you do things to make you look bad. Is it because you want, what's happening to stop, is it that you're scared to take the spot-light, what is the exact feeling, thought when you do these things?
If you can answer that, you can prepare, know what you need to, to speak up, or decline your spot-light. Without acting up, you can simply handle the situation.
Instant Tip: If you do feel things go wrong, don't fly off the handle, but work it, use humor, and charm to poke some fun at yourself.
