Okay, I am sleepy, and I am using a laptop with a tiny keyboard, so please ignore typos ;)
1. The only US president to serve in both WWI and WWII was President Dwight David Eisenhower. He was, if I remember correctly, a staff officer the first time around, but a very important leader the second time he went to a world war.
2. George Cornwallis served his King and country during the American Revolution, fighting against the rebellious colonists. His side lost.
3. The Navy's equivalent of a General is an Admiral. Senator John McCain was a POW in Vietnam, and he was offered a free ticket home by the North Vietnamese once they found out his father was an Admiral--to his credit, he refused, preferring instead to stick to the military mandate of "first in, first out" when dealing with POWs. He told the North Vietnamese they had to take someone who had been there longer than him.
4. That was Pickett! If memory serves, his first name was George, as well (lots of Georges showing up here, today).
5. That was the class of 1915. It really was an outstanding class.
6. General Omar Bradley. (Ike was class of '15, as well, but you only asked for one, and I have always been very fond of Bradley, for some reason.)
