An old lady was standing at the railing of the cruise ship
holding her hat tight so that it would not blow away in the wind
"The course of true love never did run smooth." she mumbled sadly to herself.
A gentleman approached her and said, "Pardon me,madam.
I do not intend to be forward. But I could not help overhearing your last comment. Have you lost a loved one?"
"Do not mind mind an old lady," she said with a forced smile "I am making Much ado about nothing!"
"But madam, you must know that To sleep, perchance to dream of love, true love, is at the heart of everyone's mortal desire. We cannot deny this. To thine own self be true at least!"
The woman looked down sadly at her feet, "Not when true love brings you grief! Out out brief candle of love! They have made worms' meat of me and a mockery of my feelings."
"Madam, even the Angels and ministers of grace, defend us!
When it comes to the issue of love. Do pray, tell me what happened to your true love?"
""Sir, you see he ran into stormy business waters and all his friends turned their backs on him. He owed large debts and was arrested and taken to the Judge. He was a wicked judge and gave him a harsh punishment."
"When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes, life can take a drastic turn." responded the man. "Pray thee tell what the punishment was?"
"Off with his head!" shouted the Judge and I could not believe my ears. I fell down in a faint and had to be revived. The gentleman gasped in horror.
"Was he decapitated?" he asked with bated breath.
"No, thankfully Out of the jaws of death he was saved. But he was taken away and banished to the island of the dragons. It is him that I seek to this day on these endless cruises. My sojourn knows no end cause I know not where this island maybe."
"It is fate that has brought us together then cause I know of such a man as you speak." said the gentleman."He speaks of you often too." The old woman's grip on the rails slipped and she fell awkwardly at his feet.
"Please take me to him!" was all she could utter as she cried tears of joy.
Sure I can! I love to write!
"Off with his head!" Called the town friar. I turned away, as my stomach churned, I hated to watch people I knew suffer. The two of us, me and my husband Joseph the common boy, strode round the town hand in hand, causing little disturbance. He kissed me lightly on the cheek, I could smell his aroma of hunny and sun warmed flowers. We hugged for the longest time, in the quiet of a darkened cave in the middle of the forest, hiding from our parents who would surely punish us if we were caught. We turned around out of the cave, but to our surprise we had no idea where we were. We were lost in the middle of a pine grove in the forest and all we had was each other. ⥠Angels and ministers of grace, defend us! I prayed. My true friend by my side, I wondered what there was to worry about. But I still managed to worry anyways. Out of the jaws of death we had come and back to the jaws of death we were headed. My boyfriend loved me for who I truely was and for that I was grateful. To thine own self be true I always say, and I felt so great around him.
Trolls have come or some beast. They have made worm's meat of me and talk of eating us. We are hung above a large cauldron of boiling water. The course of love never did run smooth. And Joseph began to blame me, that it was all my fault that we had left the fresh reindeer meat outside and not expected for someone to come and fetch it. I closed my eyes, to sleep, perchance to dream. Out of brief candle in my mind, I could see my future ahead. It was so light, it blinded my eyes...." You finish the rest. Enjoy!
Of course it's homework. Otherwise, it would be pointless.
