Nope, no such laws. The Prophet allowed children to play with toys. Does not matter if it looked like pigs or dogs. Those animals may be dirty & can't be eaten but we should not treat or look at em in a bad way.
this is just my opinion,i'm not speaking from the quran or the scholar's words..but i can tell you what i've heard..and this may be align with what the quran or the scholars say..i've heard a few times that no toys or whasoever that represents an animal as its true nature should be allowed to be owned..when i say 'toys or whasoever that represents an animal as its true nature' i refer to soft toys or dolls that rly look like the animal itself..can u understand malay?cause i want to explain this in malay..like patung anjing yg btul2 mcm ruper anjing..or patung harimau or kucing yg rupa dia mcm rupa harimau atau kucing yg betul..i've heard a few reasons why,but i'm not sure if it's true, they say the angels won't enter the house which has those things..don'task me why, cause i din't know..and another reason is because,it is afraid that the toys are worshipped as God,jst like the old pagans who worshipped cows that they made by their own hands..but if toys like teddy bears, which usually doesn't resemble the true look of a bear, can be kept..
No Money u rock!!
Do u know some Muslim in Singapore do kept a real dog/puppy at home as a pet?
im not sure about any Quranic verse strictly prohibiting it...but once you have doubts then its better not to do the things you have doubts in. whenever you question anything's nature, without an obvious explanation from Quran, should be considered doubtful...
for me, i avoid any kinds of dogs and pigs. the soft toys, the printing in shirts or birthday cards, etc..
dear bul ce ge.
i will answer this question base on my own understanding the muslim law & practise (i;m a muslim).
It is not against muslim law by having this toys.
However, there's one hukum call makroh.. not sure how they said in english.. it means that its not a good practice but if you have it/ do it it doesn't consider as a sin.. but the god does not like it..
dont be to hush on those two guys.. no need u to react that way.. they are trying to give answer as good as possible..

bulce g, i made a mistake. pls forgive me. when i click the link you provided, i answered it straight away and by mistake i thought i'm still in travel malaysia section. I only realize it when i go back to travel malaysia section. so to save my time, i just ask you to refer my answer i've written in R&S section. Would you kindly accept my apology? I didn't mean to offend anybody here. my answer is meant to share the knowledge i had. i'm never expecting my answer to be appreciated
But since you insisted it, here's my answer i extracted from R&S section:
no never heard of that. toys are toys, and they're for kids, no issue i think.
also as far as i know muslim are allowed to touch pigs and dogs, only need different kind/method of washing after that
OK here goes, iv read in several articles and newspapers stating that possesion of toys in form of pigs or dogs are not allowed in islam whatsoever.though some religious parties refuse to agree on this matter, it is actually true. we as muslims are not allowed to have toys of such kind anywhere, may it be in our homes, cars etc. ok my next point is, as muslims we cant even have any type of toy/statue in possesion. i have my reasons for saying that, but im not sure if it'll be much acceptable here. small gifts like miniature statues or teddy bears are not allowed. and im talking more in terms of having them in our homes. you just cant have them around. i myself used to have a HUGE collection of bears, toys, action figures and dolls, but eventually had to give them all away. trust me on this. iv confirmed my sources. thanks, and i hope i helped. have a good day.cheers
i think its okay to have them as long as it isnt used as an idol of worship. these are just cuddly cute looking soft toys meant for kids/adults alike.
however;
i did came across people who follows stricter doctrines which prohibits them from having in posession/in the house/producing:
1. any complete form of animals toys (life-like)
2. any complete form of human (life-like) statues/carvings
3. displaying pictures in frame
4. television
5. radio
6. any form of entertainment
the reason behind 1-2 was because, they didnt wish to emulate idol worshipping; as well as it would be seen as challenging God's as the ultimate creator. The creator of such a thing would be asked on judgement day to give the toy a life. soft toys are soft toys, doesnt matter which animal it was. some people said that as long as it doesnt come in a complete form, it is allowed. but some people prohibits them totally.
the reason behind not having any pictures/television/radio was said to prevent a person from being swayed by satan. These things were said would make them forget their duty to God.
my friend's sister studied in Los Angeles, upon completion she came home and threw away all the listed items above, depriving her own parents of television/radio/any form of modern amenities because she said those things are opposing the true belief.
But i find this too extreme..because her parents didnt expect those things to happen to her, given that they sent her to a university in Los Angeles above all places and she came home acting like an extremists.
Back to your question above, again i would think its okay to have cute piggy and puppy toys as long as it is not use for worshipping. It has nothing to do with pigs/dogs are haram. Those asre just toys.
