Every time I try to update my Microsoft Office 2000 program, I get this message: "Internal Error 2318: Please contact product support for assistance." I tried calling Microsoft’s customer support, but I spent all day on hold and didn’t talk to anyone. I don’t have time to wait on hold, so can anyone here help me?

You’re really better off not worrying about calling Microsoft’s customer support because it usually does take forever to get an answer. Besides, nearly anything you would get from them to fix the problem would be more complicated and time consuming than it has to be.
What’s going on with an error 2318 is that when certain Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) help files wind up missing, damaged or put in the wrong folder, your computer can’t find them to enable the update. There are complicated ways to fix this, and easy ways to fix it.
I suggest you take the easy way and use a registry fixing program. The one that I personally recommend is here: http://optimize-your-pc.com/regcure/repairing_erro...
The best thing about using a registry repair program is that it fixes everything that’s wrong with your computer’s registry, instead of fixing just one issue. Chances are, by the time you start getting error messages, there are already hundreds or thousands of registry errors in place already.
Also, if you use this program every month, it will keep your computer running in top shape. It will run faster, and there won’t be any more error messages. That is, unless something gets physically broken. Best of luck to you!
