Getting covered at McDonald’s?
I have a funeral this weekend I need to attend to, yes it is for an immediate family member, I posted my shift on like the swap shift app etc , was able to find someone to cover for me but it hasn’t been approved yet (all shift approvals go through our General manager ) and it’s been almost a week. What should I do? Should I just call out the day I’m going to the funeral or should I just talk to my general manager. I can not miss this funeral but I also know I have work priorities too

Speak to your manager and ask if the shift swap has been approved. Tell them you can't miss the funeral, it's for an important family member.
Talk to your GM so your shift swap gets approved and you're covered. Calling out on the day will not make him happy.
