the zigzag pattern has nothing to do with the speed of lightning. The zigzag is merely a result of the bending of the light through the water vapors in the air. Therefore the speed would not be affected by a change in speed.

hmm, I guess the speed would remian the same, no matter what couse it takes. Just like when, no matter how much u coil up a wire, the speed of electricity and its quality remains the same, no matter what the shapw of a wire.
