Child benefit shouldn't be claimed for kids not in this country, no.
They could fix this by verifying every claim for child benefit is for kids resident in the country, and that could be proven by providing GP or school/nursery/whatever details, and assessed yearly or so if necessary. A school can confirm if a pupil is attending or not.
Absolutely, if we're gonna skimp on benefits, International-Benefits need to stop(because disability-benefits are being 'exported' too)
1 of the major LIES in the benefits system is that we're spending too much(because reality is, benefits are cheap, when you cap 'em, which could even be capped at 1 million pounds networth, because that's the biggest user of benefits, people with more than a million quid in wealth/assets), the reason we are exporting those benefits is to also create Tax-loopholes for Multinationals, and to gain political-sympathy.
It's too much though, we're literally driving the Elderly, and Handicapped into a desperation where the suicide-rates have sky-rocketed, yet we export this money, as if there's no tomorrow.
A reality TV show featured a part family of Roma gypsies who were boasting about claiming child benefit for their kids back home.
Didn't Cameron get together with the leaders of Germany, Austria and the Netherlands recently to discuss how to limit the right of EU immigrants to benefits?
The Government should just Refuse to Pay It. What can the EU then do. Perhaps Jump Up and Down, Sue the UK or maybe Send in an Armed Force. They May Threaten but they will not to do anything.
Not as a priority. It's peanuts here, but where they live it's a lot of money. It seems strange how they are willing to work for nearly nothing but there are loads of them in one house so they pay a little bit each for the rent, bills and food, then they send the remaining money home and it's worth a lot more over there. I didn't understand it at first but now I do. I might do the same if I lived in a mud hut somewhere.
Well of course it should,I was taken to hospital while staying in Portugal,I spent 10 days on a drip and on antibiotics, the cost £14,000,not even an operation, yes private room with TV,but come on £14.000,a bit much in any ones book ok.just for a bladder infection,we are to soft in this country,
yes but they also pay tax on money they earn and also pay VAT, they are quite likely to pay into the pension pot via NI, but ultimately leave Britain and not get the state pension due to too few years

Child benefit should be scrapped altogether, why should I pay for other people's mistakes?
Taxes are fascism.
Agree with Deighono.... but NO.... any benefits should stay in the UK and not bee sent out of the country.
