Whats your opinion on these 2 stadiums. I have been to Soccer City for the World Cup matches (Brazil vs Ivory Coast & also Germany vs Ghana) & i was awe struck by its beauty & genius. Soccer city has 5 tiers which circle the entire pitch. The bottom & top tiers carry the capacity of the stadium. I sat up front for the Brazil vs Ivory Coast game & I was but a few meters away from the action. I could see the expressions on the players faces! For the Germany vs Ghana game, I sat on the top tier, far from the pitch but I felt very close to the action. The design at Soccer City allows you to be close to the action by the design going up rather than further away. Having only seen images of Estádio do Maracanã I don't like the fact that it only has 2 tiers & the pitch is so far away from the seats. In Soccer city the seats were very close to the pitch & even the furthest seats were designed to be within a good viewing point, i think 100m max.
