Sleep paralysis is a natural and normal part of the sleep cycle and everyone has it. It evolved to stop our ancestors acting out their dreams and falling out of the tree they were sleeping in. Sleep paralysis ends when you wake up. Occasionally you linger in that strange state between waking and sleeping and have a semi-conscious experience of sleep paralysis and it is scary. It is at this time also that you can incorporate outside noises and influences into your dreams and it is also the stage of sleep where the incubus and succubus of old would appear or, more commonly these days, alien abductions. The mind plays strange tricks on people.

You should read "The Demon haunted World: Science as a candle in the dark" by Carl Sagan. He gives a very good description and explanation of this strange waking/sleeping stage.

Anything involving the occult, spiritism, puts you in contact with wicked spirits aka demons.

I don't think so. It sounds like you are tapping into the Astral-Plane or Dream-world;

which is a real place. Astral means "star." The Astral-World and Earth are two sides

of the same coin; and were created outside of Oneness with god. On this planet, we

have explored Separation from Oneness as far as you can go.
