Unlimited Atonement says that Christ died only for the elect and those who are not elect are not able to repent of their sins because God will not allow them to. Do you think it would be unfair for to punish someone for something that wasn’t their choice?

I like much of what reformed Calvinists teaches, but I disagree with that. The elect were chosen by God, and as the elect it is our responsibility to reach out to those who are not among the elect that they may be saved. Most of the elect fail to do their job.
The first thing to notice about Calvinism is that it was largely invented and codified by other people who claimed to be following Calvin, not by John Calvin himself.
When I read Calvin (specifically, his "Institutes of the Christian Religion"), I find that he's not nearly as hog-tied by the temptation to sort people into groups and to tell God which groups he's allowed to save. I'll grant that the seeds of the doctrine are present, but the important point is that ANYBODY can be saved, and the Atonement is beneficial for all who accept salvation.
As C.S. Lewis points out in "Mere Christianity," "[...] the truth is God has not told us what His arrangements about the other people are. We do know that no man can be saved except through Christ; we do not know that only those who know Him can be saved through Him."
I don't know who is saved and who is not, and neither does anyone else. Perhaps the Universalists are right and we'll all be saved. I'm not a Universalist myself, but I would be happy to find they are right. And I strongly suspect that anyone presuming to set limits on the reach of God's saving grace probably underestimates it.
contrary, all people have chosen to sin... everyone is accountable in judgment for their own sins and iniquities. i dont believe in calvanism on the definition(s) of fore ordination and pre destination. at one time i only believed that Jesus was the only one who was pre destined, than i realized that you can add the Patriarchs as nobility like in Jeremiah 1:4-7. isaiah mentions a pre existing birth right with his calling, but this has to include that all mankind existed before their birth. and there are those that are chosen as prophet because of their own qualifications to be fore ordained. but i never did read the verse that says even those that are "elders" are pre-ordained. however, i have not come to accept that all people are pre destined and pre ordained. not yet. for example: the inverse of reprobates and sons of perdition actually choosing to follow satan would be one type of exemption of becoming anything that is/was pre destined, which does allow free agency and free will.
That doctrine is false............ however..... sin is always a choice ....even if it is made in ignorance
This is false teaching.
LA is not biblical in the least. Calvin was a spiritual dimwit.
Read these facts
1. Christ died for the elect
2. The elect are his church - we Christians.
3. We as individuals decide for ourselves to become Christians. God does not decide for us.
4. If you decide not to become a believer, then you are not Gods elect.
"Fair" or "unfair", the 5-point Tulip Calvinism doctrine remains false teaching
God decides what is fair or unfair, not you.
Romans 9:11 When the children were not yet born, they had done nothing good or bad. God chooses the people he wants. He does not choose people because of what they have done. He chooses people who will answer his call. So he said to Rebecca, `The older one will be a slave of the younger one.'
12 The holy writings also say, `I loved Jacob, but I hated Esau.'
13 So what shall we say? Does God do what is not right? No, never!
14 He says to Moses, `I will be kind to a person if I choose to be kind to him. I will share in the suffering of others if I choose to be sorry for them.'
15 God is not kind to a person because the person wants God to be kind to him. God is not kind to him because the person runs to him to ask him for help. God is kind because he chooses to be kind.
16 In the holy writings it says to Pharaoh, `That is why I made you live. I wanted to show my power through you. I wanted people to know about me all over the earth.'
17 So God is kind to any person if he wants to be kind to him. And God makes a man's heart hard if he wants to do that.
18 So you will ask me, `Why does God still blame us? Who can fight against what God has planned?'
19 But you are only a man. Will you tell God what to do? Can the pot say to the man who made it, `Why did you make me like this?'
20 The person who makes pots has power over the mud. He can make two different pots out of one pile of mud. One pot will be fine and another will not be fine. Can the potter not make them so?
21 God has a right to be very angry if he wants to be. He has the right to show his power. God was very angry with some people who deserved to die. And yet he waited a long time before he did anything to them.
22 He did it to show how very great he is. He was kind to some people. He planned for them to be made great.
Bronze age superstition is just that, bronze age superstition. Its not designed to be fair, its designed to keep you in control.
Of course it's unfair, but unfortunately, all it takes is a casual read through of the Bible to realize that's what the authors intended. That's a huge part of why I'm no longer a Christian.
