I am totally aware of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell isn’t a politician. I think most agree that she is a controversial figure in media. Often, her outrageous statements are given a lot of attention and are frequently discussed on major political programs such as Hannity& Colmes and the O’Reilly Factor.
Does anyone believe she’s an influential speaker and/or leader for the Liberals? Or do Liberals hate her as much as the Conservatives do? Do you think Rosie O’Donnell is behind her own madness or do you think she is being fed information from other sources? Also, I was just wondering, do people really listen and believe the things that Rosie says? I am just curious.
Oh yeah, one more question, if she doesn’t have any political power, then why is it every time she makes a anti-Bush or anti-Iraq comment, it’s all over the news? Please tell me what you think.
If you want examples of the controversial statements she makes….here you go
-9/11 was an inside
-Let’s side with the Terrorist
-The American troops in Iraq are uneducated
-She swears at her kids all the time (Alec Baldwin incident)
There are many more…but that should do!
Update:Great answers everyone!!

Rosie is contraversial, she sells, what ever a news organization or tabliod tv magazine is sellin (products) Rosie is a draw. Maddison Ave. wants to do all they can to get in on that. (This goes back to a prior question you asked about the media having an agenda that is a bit slanted, and only shows us what they want us to see.)
I believe Rosie has a following (a small following mind you.... or is it a small minded following.... i digress) they tune in where ever she is to see her sound byte, hoot and holler at the TV, then as the screen fades to black they watch the next series of commercial spots geared to what the anyalists believe is the demographic. Notice how they keep you rivited to the show: EXAMPLE;
Our top stories Rosie bla bla bla, And in Iraq bla bla, and also, bla blank, and we'll be right back after this...
bla bla... comercial comercial comercial...
Show starts up and they talk about the whales in Sac River, What "W" is up to, Irac, Iran, Congress,
Washington drivel bla bla,
we'll be right back BUT still to come...an indepth look at Rosie bla bla bla....
comercial comercial comercial...etc etc...
see what I mean?
Now here in lies the problem, I personally believe that there are more people angry with Rosie than there are supporters of her position on issues both political and US Policy wise (I'm not in her corner by any means, but I loved her in Sleepless in Seatle, The Flinstones, and that movie about the womens professional basball league).
I believe she is a radical pot stirrer of what ever is the nasty concoction you can think of regarding the liberal agenda of the day. Too many people that don't support her are watchin her because they want to "take a poke at her" or see someone else stronger come along a put her in her place.
I asked earlier if Rosie was an "intellectual bully"? I believe I missworded the question, I think I should have asked if she is an "emotional bully". I think that is a more fitting discription of Rosie.
Sorry for the long answer, and thanks for the really good questions.

HI who care I know I don't get ten yet I shall stay for my 2 cents
No, yet a national show like The View is a hell of a platform for ideas.
Yes, I believe Loose Change and some stuff may have been sent her way but she is smart and chose to get into it.
EH opened the worm can on WTC7 that was on her blog
and the gloves are off now months later.
I watch alot and almost always her words are taken out of context. I have watched 9 yrs of that show. She has people
like Bill Gedde and Barbara Walters to answer to. These two are more responsible for this circus than the cast members.
In my opinion.
I believe she has registered herself as Independent and does not lean one side or the other. Simply speaks her convictions.
People listen alright. She is headline news on every channel. Kinda shows US how weak we are not her.
Political bias is all over the news as this is combined with celebrity news its a field day. Anna Nicole Smith? She has left a gap Rosie seems to fill now.
Does anyone know about the Presidential Address that pre empted the View 2day? Gonzales Immigration Iran?
That is where we suffer as a nation. Too much fast food and no real meat for the digestion of good solid facts and news.
Does she have political power? No. Does she have a voice, absofukinlutly.I'm not a liberal or a conservative. I'm an American who wants truth. I'm not buying everything we're fed. Something has gone terribly wrong and it's time we stood up and take back the control. I love the part of your question where you ask why her comments end up on the evening cable channels. They can't STAND that she's going against the neo-conservative brainwashing that goes on nightly. I find it rather humorous and intriguing. If she's crazy why do they even give her any attention? Maybe what she's saying is hitting a nerve somewhere? Wake up America, we've been sold a lie. Do your own research on the topics brought up for discussion. The conservative/liberal divide has to stop if we want change. Ask yourself why the mainstream media doesn't bring up questions and actually REPORT the findings. People should not fear their governments, governments should fear their people!
Rosie has said before that she has a big mouth and is highly opinionated. Is she a Liberal leader? Maybe, in the sense that she is thoroughly informed on many topics (controversial or otherwise) and has a following. Speaking for myself, I'm glad she speaks as she does on "The View" because I feel she represents a significant part of America that has not been given a voice in today's media. Does she have power? In a sense she uses her celebrity status to state her opinions, but I do sincerely believe they ARE her own, formulated from a variety of news outlets. (I know she watches/reads everything from Fox News to the BBC, so there ya go.)
As Much Political Power As That Wine-no On The Street Corner
I think it is significant that you mention that her words are "frequently discussed on major political programs such as Hannity& Colmes and the O’Reilly Factor."
Because I don't consider those shows to be major political programs. They are infotainment shows for the right wing. They are busy with the important work of reporting what infotainers of the left, like Rosie O'Donnell say.
It is all nonsense and hot air. I don't know of anyone with a healthy, well-informed intellect who takes any of that stuff seriously. Rosie spews hot air so she can tick off people on the right, such as O'Hannicolm, who response vociferously so as to tick off people on the left.
Alec Baldwin? Anyone who raised Alec Baldwin's name and his family problems in a political discussion is a tool of the infotainment industry.
I don't believe she does have any real political power. I think she is the equivilant to a "shock jock" on the radio. She says outrageous things just to get a reaction. Then guys like Hannity point out how off base she is to show how kookie way far left libs are getting.
It's just plain sad.
Rosie has no political power to wield per say, but she does have celebrity and a public forum on which to rant. I am not personally a fan of hers, but, I applaud her for speaking out against the things that trouble her. If we all did this, we wouldn't be lulled into this war by an incompetent administration.
She is influential in the fact that guys like Limbaugh and Hannity are even talking about her. If she was insignificant she could be ignored and would eventually fade into the background. They must be scared to death of the other side getting their say even if it is from Rosie O'Donnell.
She is as wacky as Hannity, Limbaugh, coulter Colmes and O'
Reilly are. There has to be one wacko on the left to balance the wackos on the right. I don't agree with any of them on either side.
No political power, and mostly I disagree with her.. I do not call her a fat slob because I disagree, she has rights, freedom of speech right that we all have,, right now, before they are taken away.. But on somethings I do agree with her..
911 I agree..just because two people agree doesn't necessarily make one right and the other an idiot..threes so much in making of an idiot, Look at Dick Cheney,,
