Of course not. I do believe, however, that the government should allow people a level playing field so that all have opportunities to improve. My son has graduated from U of M, and is the process of seeking his Master's in Education. He will graduate, with honors, but will not get paid for student teaching. He will also graduate with heavy debt. Wealthy people go to college on daddy's bank roll, graduate debt free, and already have a leg-up in building their careers. This government claims that education is important, then does nothing to help the teacher.
Yes there are people that believe it is the responsibility of the Government to provide their "necessities". These people are bleeding heart, communist, hippie, liberals. They are destroying this country from the inside out and they will not stop until we are all card carrying members of the ACLU.
it is not the responsibility of the government to provide necessities. the only responsibility they ahve is to make sure that everyone has access to these necessities. for example the right to shelter does'nt mean that government must actually give houses to people but that everyone must have access to land, ie people must be allowed to buy land or houses. so the government need to make sure that no one is denied this right.
Nope. But, as humans we certainly can't let people freeze or starve. I think it's society's responsibility to teach our children to be self-sufficient.
Unfortunately, people are so greedy now a days and have this sense of immediate gratification that people get themselves into trouble and expect the government to bail them out.
